Public engagement is the set of initiatives proposed to citizens with the aim to reduce the distance between research and society, increase the dialogue with the territory, and involve those belonging to categories at greater risk of exclusion: all in order to maximise the impact that research activities can have on society.

Public engagement includes initiatives such as meetings, guided tours, workshops, sports events, web and social communication, activities with schools.
