Valentina Onnis graduated from Cagliari in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies in 1989; she is an associate professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the department of Life and Environmental Science.
Her research focuses on the study of synthetic methodologies for heterocyclic systems with potential biological activity and the design, synthesis, and study of bioactive molecules, with particular attention to molecules with analgesic, antitumor, antimicrobial qualities, as well as enzyme inhibitors, receptor modulators.
She has co-authored over 115 papers in international scientific journals, most of which illustrate the results of research carried out in collaboration with international research groups. At the University of Cagliari, she was a member of the integrated Academic Senate from 2010 to 2012, the Academic Senate from 2015 to 2018 and the Board of Directors from 2018 to 2019.
She is currently the delegate of the Coordinators of the class councils L-29 and LM-13 in the Orientation Commission and she is the university’s contact person for the Pot-Pharmacy Guidance and Tutoring Project.
