The European Researchers’ Night is held every year on the last Friday of September, and it’s preceded by pre-events in the weeks and months before. It is a highly anticipated event of encounter and exchange between researchers and the public of all ages, with the aim of discovering the challenges and passions at the basis of the choice to dedicate their lives to scientific research.
SHARPER is the name of the project under which the University of Cagliari organises the Night. The team includes several universities and research institutes in the italian cities of Ancona, Cagliari, Camerino, Catania, Genoa, L'Aquila, Macerata, Nuoro, Palermo, Pavia, Perugia, Sassari, Terni and Trieste.
Each city aggregates a local network involving other research institutions and entities active in the popular science. The University of Cagliari is the leader of the group composed by INFN – Sezione di Cagliari, INAF-Osservatorio astronomico di Cagliari, Sardegna Ricerche, the associations Scienza Società Scienza and Laboratorio Scienza, Sardegna Teatro, the municipalities of Cagliari and Nuoro and consorzio universitario UniNuoro.
SHARPER is a project funded by the European Commission (Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions) and is organised by the Division of UniCa, with the valuable contribution of all the Departments, Research and Territory Division and Museums of the University.
