Already prorector in charge of health activities from December 2020 and confirmed by the rector Francesco Mola for the six-year period 2021-2027, Giorgio La Nasa is full professor of Haematology, teaching in the faculty of Medicine and Surgery and in UniCa’s schools of specialisation.
Since 2018, he has been Director of the Department of Medical Sciences and Public Health and is a member of the Academic Senate of the University of Cagliari. He directs the Complex Haematology Structure and Bone Marrow Transplant Centre of the Businco Hospital of Arnas Brotzu. He is also director of the "Bone Marrow Transplant Program" of the metropolitan network of the city of Cagliari, accredited at European level with international certification Jacie. The main areas of research are unrelated allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, immunogenetics of blood-oncological diseases and quality of life in patients with haemato-oncopathy. He has published more than 230 scientific papers in national and international journals, and he’s co-editor of the Haematology Handbook for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
