The University of Cagliari is a proud member of the "European Digital UniverCity" (EDUC) Alliance. The Alliance took origin from the “European Universities” initiative promoted by the European Commission and co-financed by the European Erasmus+ Program. The aim of the EU Commission is that of creating a network of transnational alliances of universities to develop long-term strategic cooperation. The main objectives of these alliances are to promote new models of physical and virtual mobility of students, teachers and staff, to foster common research projects and to face the new society challenges in an innovative and multidisciplinary way.
The ''European Digital UniverCity'' (EDUC) Alliance is coordinated by the University of Potsdam (Germany) and, besides the University of Cagliari, it involves the Universities of: Paris-Nanterre and Rennes (France), Masaryk (Brno, Czech Republic), Pécs (Hungary), Jaume I (Spain), and South-Eastern (Norway).
Furthermore, through the H2020 “EDUC-SHARE” (2021-2024) and “EDUC-WIDE” (2024-2027) projects, this Alliance develops research and innovation strategies, in accordance with the policies of the European Research Area (ERA).
