Research Quality Assessment (VQR) is the national procedure by which MUR, through ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System) evaluate the results of scientific research carried out by universities and public research bodies. The results of the VQR are used for the allocation of the reward fee of the Ordinary Financing Fund (FFO).

The assessment of research products is multi-annual and is carried out among «peers», organised in Expert Assessment Groups (EGVs), according to scientific area. The assessment is based on criteria of originality, methodological rigour and confirmed or potential impact on the reference scientific community.

The final report of the third year of VQR, covering the five-year period 2015-2019, includes a general document, reports dedicated to individual institutions, those of the scientific areas and those of the third mission area.

The publications and data sheets of the third mission cases being evaluated are available in the dedicated database.
