Starting from the academic year 2022/2023, without prejudice to the obligation to hold the qualifications required for access to the various levels of university education, it is possible to enrol simultaneously in two higher education courses within the same university or belonging to universities, schools or higher institutes with special regulations, including foreign ones, in accordance with the indications and procedures indicated in Ministerial Decree no. 930 of 29 July 2022 and in the FAQ published on the Ministry's website.

It is possible to enrol in

  • two bachelor’s degree courses
  • two master’s degree courses
  • one bachelor and one master’s degree course
  • one bachelor's degree course or one master's degree course and one PhD course
  • one bachelor's or master's degree course and one first-level master's degree course
  • one bachelor or master course and one non-medical specialisation course
  • two first-level master's degree courses, provided that they are not the same master's degree course even if they are from different universities 
  • one master's degree course and one non-medical specialisation course
  • one master's degree course and one medical specialisation course
  • one doctoral course and one master's course
  • one PhD course and one non-medical specialisation course
  • one PhD course and one medical specialisation course (in compliance with Art. 7 of Ministerial Decree 226/2021)

 

 Is not permitted concurrent dual enrolment in

  • two PhD courses;
  • two specialisation courses.

 

In the case of concurrent enrolment between bachelor’s degree and/or master's degree courses, these must not belong to the same class and must differ in at least two-thirds of their educational activities. If one of the two study courses, as regulated in the respective study course regulations, provides for compulsory attendance, enrolment in a second course that does not have compulsory attendance is permitted. This does not include courses for which compulsory attendance is only required for laboratory and internship activities.

It remains compulsory to take the knowledge, curricular requirements and adequacy of personal preparation test, respectively envisaged for bachelor’s and master's degree courses.
