The orientation and career support activities aimed at PhD students and recent PhD graduates at the University of Cagliari include:

COMPANY PRESENTATION AND RECRUITING EVENTS organized by the Emblema Foundation as part of the “Borsa del Placement” – forDoc programme.

The goal is to provide PhD candidates and recent PhD graduates with concrete support for entering the workforce, by creating a direct channel with recruiters from major companies operating and investing in research in Italy, interested in hiring highly specialized profiles.

Programme initiatives:

Virtual Fair forDoc – 18 June 2026: the only national career day exclusively for PhDs, allowing companies to schedule interviews with target profiles and giving PhD candidates and graduates the opportunity to apply to companies of interest seeking profiles like theirs.

Recruiting Days forDoc: 60-minute online sessions where companies can present themselves to PhD candidates and graduates from across Italy, highlighting the profiles they are seeking, the selection process, and specific ongoing projects.

TRAINING AND ORIENTATION PROGRAM “After the PhD: tools and opportunities to build your professional future beyond Academia”

This initiative, the result of a collaboration between the University’s Job Placement Office and “Find Your Doctor” – Italy’s first employment agency dedicated to PhDs – aims to guide PhD candidates through the transition to the workforce and provide them with the skills needed to optimally define their career path in non-academic contexts.

The programme includes 3 in-person sessions (each lasting 4 hours).

Period: October 2026 (dates to be confirmed).

UNICAREER DAY, 26 NOVEMBER 2026 (in-person)

At UniCAreer Day, companies interested in highly specialized profiles will also participate. PhD candidates and recent PhD graduates from the University will have the opportunity to meet company representatives in person and take part in individual job interviews, both scheduled and open.
