Professor Luigi Raffo graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Genoa in 1989; he earned his Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Science in 1994. Since 1994, Raffo has been working at the University of Cagliari: first, as an assistant, and then, from 1998 to 2006, as associate professor; from 2006 on, as full professor of Electronics. He teaches courses in systems/digital and analogic electronic design and processor architectures for the courses of study in Electronic and Biomedical Engineering. From 2006 to 2012 he was president of the course of studies in Biomedical Engineering. Since 2012 he has been the delegate for European projects of the University of Cagliari, with signing power, for the formulation and issuing of guidelines related to the international planning activity and the coordination of the activities of the European Office of the University of Cagliari
Professor Raffo has been coordinator of numerous international projects, industrial projects as well as responsible for cooperation programs ,in the field of embedded systems, with several European universities. His research focuses on the design of electronic devices and systems for applications in both the biomedical field and in different fields where high performance and low power dissipation are required. In this field he is the author of about 200 international publications and three international patents.
